VA Requires Certificate of Eligibility Prior to Ordering Appraisal

VA issued Circular 26-19-12, requiring lenders to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) prior to ordering an appraisal. Per the Circular, all cases must have a COE in the “Active or Pending” status before an appraisal can be requested. The Circular went into effect May 16, 2019.
