VA Extends Foreclosure and Eviction Moratorium Related to COVID-19 and Updates Requirements Related to COVID-19-related Forbearances

VA issued Circular 26-21-10 to extend the foreclosure and eviction moratorium in connection with COVID-19. Per the Circular, VA extended the foreclosure and eviction moratorium through July 31, 2021. VA also extended the period during which a borrower may request a COVID-related forbearance until September 30, 2021. In addition, VA provided guidance for servicers a reporting COVID-19-related forbearance. The changes announced in the Circular are effective immediately.
