VA Clarifies Distance and Proximity Requirements with respect to Comparable Sale Properties

VA issued Circular 26-17-14 (Circular), providing clarification with respect to distance and proximity requirements for comparable sale properties used in VA appraisals. VA does not set minimum or maximum distance requirements between the subject and comparable sale properties. Rather, VA requires that “Comparable sales should be located as close to the subject as practical.” This Circular provides clarification with respect to current policy.
