VA Announces the Federal Housing Finance Agency Maximum Conforming Loan Limits for 2023

VA issued Circular 26-22-18 (Circular), announcing the Federal Housing Finance Agency maximum conforming loan limits (CLL) for 2023. Per the Circular, VA announced that the CLL will impact borrowers with partial entitlement that seek a loan of more than $144,00 as the CLL is part of the formula to calculate remaining entitlement. Also, where the 2023 CLL is higher than the 2022 county loan limit, VA will use the 2023 loan limit and where the 2023 CLL is lower than the 2022 CLL, VA will use the 2022 CLL for loan applications signed prior to January 1, 2023, when the loan closed on or after January 1, 2023. The changes announced in the Circular become effective January 1, 2023.
