New Hampshire Authorizes Remote Notarizations

New Hampshire passed a bill authorizing remote notarizations and establishing requirements for the performance of remote notarizations. A remote notarization is a notarial act performed for an individual who is not in the physical presence of the notary public who performs the notarial act. The bill also authorized electronic notarizations and amended several provisions under the Uniform Law on Notarial Acts. In addition, the bill amended model power of attorney form under the Uniform Power of Attorney Act. The changes with respect to notarizations become effective February 6, 2022. The amended power of attorney form is effective immediately.
