Minnesota Amends Foreclosure Consultant and Equity Purchaser Provisions

Minnesota passed a bill amending provisions with respect to foreclosure consultants and equity purchasers. Under the bill, foreclosure consultants are now referred to as “solicitors” and foreclosure purchasers are now referred to as “equity purchasers”. The bill also amends the applicability of the provisions to include apartments and property that is the subject of a contract for deed. The bill becomes effective July 1, 2021.
