Louisiana Permits Online Foreclosure Auctions

Louisiana passed a bill permitting online foreclosure auctions. Under the bill, a sheriff may conduct a foreclosure sale via an online auction. In addition, the bill amends the content and form of the Notice of Seizure, and the content of the Notice of Sale, to include information pertaining to online foreclosure auctions. In lieu of including the information in the Notice of Seizure, the information may be served on the borrower in a separate notice at least 3 days prior to the foreclosure sale. The bill went into effect on August 1, 2023.
