Louisiana adopted a rule authorizing remote online notarizations and establishing requirements for the performance of remote online notarizations. A remote online notarization is a notarial act performed for an individual who is not in the physical presence of the notary public who performs the notarial act. The rule went into effect January 20, 2022.
