Florida Enacts Collateral Protection Insurance Requirements

Florida passed a bill enacting collateral protection insurance (force placed insurance) requirements. The bill enacts requirements with respect to the placement of collateral protection insurance, the effective date of the insurance, the termination of the insurance, the coverage amount of the insurance, and the charges to the borrower for the insurance. The bill went into effect July 1, 2023.
