FHA updated the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1 (Update). The Update contains technical changes for consistency and clarity, and adds several policy updates. The policy updates include updates with respect to: origination and underwriting; appraisal and property requirements; servicing; and quality control, oversight, and compliance for mortgagees with multifamily authority. FHA also published the following new and updated supplemental and model documents: Borrower Notice of Water Purification System; Single Family Default Monitoring System Reporting Codes; Termite Treatment Exception Areas; and HUD Earnest Money Forfeiture and Return Policy.
