FHA issued Mortgagee Letter 2021-28 to announce the forward mortgage loan limits for 2022. The 2022 “floor” and “ceiling” loan limits for a one-unit property are increased to $420,680 and $970,800, respectively (previously set at $356,362 and $822,375). The 2022 “ceiling” for the special exception areas of Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the Virgin Islands increased to $1,456,200 (an increase from $1,233,550). The forward mortgage loan limits apply to loans with case numbers assigned on or after January 1, 2022.
