Fannie Mae Issues Servicing Guide Announcement SVC-2025-01

Fannie Mae issued Servicing Guide Announcement SVC-2025-01 (Announcement), setting forth updates to the Servicing Guide. Per the Announcement, Fannie Mae introduced new cybersecurity requirements for servicers in 3 key areas (information security, incident management, and business resiliency). The new requirements include the following topics: relevant terms; information security program; cybersecurity incident management; and business continuity management. In addition, Fannie Mae clarified that Freddie Mac’s Community Land Trust Ground Lease Rider (Form 490) may be accepted in lieu of Freddie Mac’s Community Land Trust Ground Lease Rider (Form 2100) with respect to shared equity loans. Revisions related to cybersecurity requirements must be fully implemented by August 12, 2025 (lenders are, however, encouraged to implement these changes immediately). Revisions related to Community Land Trust Ground Lease Riders are effective February 12, 2025.
