Fannie Mae issued Servicing Guide Announcement SVC-2021-08 (Announcement), setting forth updates to the Servicing Guide. Per the Announcement, Fannie Mae updated the required initial delinquency inspection order date from no earlier than the 60th day of delinquency to no earlier than the 90th day of delinquency. Fannie Mae also clarified servicer responsibilities for instructing mortgage insurers to release data pertaining to mortgage loans insured under MI master policies in effect prior to Oct 10, 2014. Revisions related to initial delinquency inspections are effective February 1, 2022 (servicers may, however implement the revisions immediately). Revisions related to the mortgage data insurance process are effective immediately.
