Fannie Mae Extends Suspension of Foreclosure Sales Involving Properties in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands Impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey

Fannie Mae issued Lender Letter LL-2017-11, extending the suspension of foreclosure sales involving properties in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands that were impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. In August of 2017, Fannie Mae suspended all foreclosure sales involving properties impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey until December 31, 2017. Pursuant to this Lender Letter, Fannie Mae is extending the foreclosure suspension until March 31, 2018 for properties in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands that were impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. The suspension does not apply to properties in any other jurisdiction designated as a FEMA disaster area as a result of the 2017 hurricanes.
