Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Postpone Mandatory Use Date of Redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, at the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), postponed the mandatory use date for the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA). Mandatory use of the redesigned URLA was scheduled to begin on February 1, 2020. However, FHFA has now directed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make specific modifications to the URLA form. FHFA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will assess the impact of the changes to the redesigned URLA timeline, and will provide more information related to the new implementation dates as soon as it is available.
