District of Columbia Enacts Uniform Power of Attorney Act

District of Columbia passed a bill enacting the Uniform Power of Attorney Act. The Uniform Power of Attorney Act is modeled upon the Uniform Power of Attorney Act drafted and approved by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. The bill also repealed the Uniform Durable Power of Attorney Act and the Uniform Statutory Form Power of Attorney Act. The bill went into effect on February 23, 2023.
