Delaware Requires Mortgagees and Assignees to Record Notice Address Change with County Recorder

Delaware passed a bill requiring a mortgagee or assignee to record a Statement of Mortgage Address Change when there is a change to the mortgagee or assignee’s notice address stated in a mortgage or assignment of mortgage. The recording of a Statement of Mortgagee Address Change is public notice to all parties interested in the mortgage or assignment, or the property upon which it is a lien, of the address where the mortgagee or assignee must receive any notice. The bill provides a model form for the Statement of Mortgagee Address Change. The bill went into effect August 30, 2017.
