Connecticut Delays Effective Date of Uniform Power of Attorney Act

Connecticut passed a bill delaying the effective date of the Uniform Power of Attorney Act (UPAA). Under the bill, the effective date of the UPAA is now October 1, 2016 (rather than July 1, 2016). The bill also establishes a model short form power of attorney and amends the content of the model long form power of attorney. The bill went into effect May 27, 2016.
