The Accounting Associate will play an essential role on the Accounting team, responsible for managing various aspects of financial transactions and records. Duties and Responsibilities:
Cash Management:
- Manage daily cash deposits by receiving and posting customer checks and ACH payments daily.
- Assists in preparing bi-weekly payment runs.
Accounts Receivable:
- Enter and review customer invoices in the accounting system, verifying against production reports.
- Generate and handle monthly customer statements and distributions to maintain clear communication with clients.
Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Maintain and balance records, schedule payments, and verify data for disbursements.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Journal Entries and Reconciliations:
- Prepare and post general journal entries monthly and at year-end.
- Assist in monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
Audit Support:
- Provide assistance in preparing accounting material for external audits, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience in an Accounting Department.
Skills and Abilities Necessary to Succeed:
- General understanding of GAAP.
- Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Analytical, problem-solving approach.
- Sage Intacct experience or comparable accounting software experience, a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn new programs and technologies such as such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and similar programs.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
