VA Announces Temporary Measures for Borrowers Affected Financially by COVID-19

VA issued Circular 26-20-10, Change 2, announcing temporary measures related to borrower qualification for a VA-guaranteed home loan when the borrower’s income and the lender’s processing of the home loan have been affected by COVID-19. Per the Circular, the temporary measures pertain to income verification, income analysis, eMortgages and eNotes, lien position, and the timeline for requesting evidence of guaranty (Loan Guaranty Certificate). The Circular went into effect June 29, 2021.
