South Carolina Enacts the Electronic Notary Public Act

South Carolina passed a bill enacting the Electronic Notary Public Act and establishing notarial certificate requirements for the performance of electronic notarizations. An electric notarization is a notarial act performed using a set of applications, programs, hardware, software, or technologies designed to enable an electronic notary public to perform electronic notarizations. The bill went into effect May 18, 2021.
