Indiana Amends Foreclosure Notice of Sale Publication Requirements

Indiana passed a bill amending publication requirements with respect to a foreclosure notice of sale. Currently, a sheriff is required to publish a notice of sale once a week for 3 successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county where the property is located. Under the bill, a sheriff may publish the 1st publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the county where the property is located, and the 2 subsequent publications on the sheriff’s web site, and on the official web site of each county where the real estate is located. The bill becomes effective July 1, 2021.
