VA Expands Home Loan Eligibility Based on National Guard Service

VA issued Circular 26-21-08, expanding home loan eligibility based on certain National Guard service. Per the Circular, expanded eligibility includes members of the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard who have performed at least 90 cumulative days of full-time National Guard duty, of which, at least 30 days of those days must have been consecutive. Full-time National Guard duty does not include inactive duty, such as monthly drills, and does not include basic or initial training. The expanded eligibility applies to COE applications received by the VA on or after January 5, 2021.
