FHA published an update to its Single Family Housing Policy Handbook (SF Handbook 4000.1). The update includes revisions and additional clarifications to various FHA policies and programs throughout the Handbook, as well as the incorporation of changes announced in previous Mortgagee Letters. Changes that are incorporated to reflect a Mortgagee Letter have an effective date as previously announced in the respective Mortgagee Letter. Changes identified in Sections I.A, V.A, and V.E.4.b are effective immediately. Changes identified in Section II.A are mandatory for mortgages with case numbers assigned on or after February 16, 2021 (lenders may, however, implement the changes immediately). All other changes are effective February 16, 2021 (lenders and servicers may, however, implement the changes immediately).
