FHA issued a partial waiver for eligible Non-Borrowing Spouses impacted by COVID-19. The partial waiver allows an eligible Non-Borrowing Spouse to enter into a deferral period and avoid foreclosure if the spouse is unable to meet (due to COVID-19) the 90-day requirement to establish legal right to remain in the property after the death of the last surviving HECM borrower. The partial waiver is limited to a 12-month period beginning October 1, 2020.
