VA issued Circulars 26-19-14, 26-19-15 and 26-19-16 describing measures mortgagees may employ to provide relief to home loan borrowers affected by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The measures include: the forbearance of loan payments; a 90 day foreclosure moratorium; the waiver of late charges; and the suspension of credit bureau and VA reporting. The Circular also encourages servicers to extend special forbearance to National Guard members that experience financial difficulties as a result of their service.
