Freddie Mac Issues Bulletin 2019-8: Servicing Updates

Freddie Mac issued Bulletin 2019-8 (Bulletin), announcing revisions to the Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide. Per the Bulletin, Freddie Mace revised requirements relating to: approved servicer reimbursement amounts for uncontested foreclosures, bankruptcy services and other legal expense items; property insurance loss settlements; the Investor Reporting Change Initiative; and disaster-related requirements for mortgages that are less than 30 days delinquent at the time of the disaster. Freddie Mac also extended the mandatory effective date for use of the revised Uniform Underwriting and Transmittal Summary (Form 1077). In addition, Freddie Mac updated exhibits 57 (1-to 4-Unit Property Approved Expense Amounts) and 74 (Expense and Income Codes for Expense Reimbursement Claims), and introduced a new form for requesting the partial release of a lien or grant of an easement. Revisions to approved servicer reimbursement amounts are effective for reimbursement claims submitted on or after April 18, 2019. Revisions related to the Investor Reporting Change Initiative are effective May 1, 2019. Revisions related to property insurance loss settlements are effective July 1, 2019. The new form for requesting a partial release of a lien or grant of an easement is effective August 1, 2019. All other changes are effective immediately.
