Fannie Mae Extends Foreclosure Moratorium for Properties in Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Affected by Hurricanes Irma or Maria

Fannie Mae extended the foreclosure moratorium for properties in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands affected by Hurricanes Irma or Maria. The foreclosure moratorium is extended through May 31, 2018. However, a servicer may choose to proceed with a foreclosure sale prior to May 31, 2018 if: the property is vacant or abandoned; the servicer completes a property inspection; and there is no insurable damage or ability to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds with respect to the property.
