Ginnie Mae Increases Maximum Loan Amount for High Balance Loans

Ginnie Mae increased the maximum loan amount for high balance loans. In 2018, the maximum loan amount for a high balance loan secured by a one-unit property will be $453,100 for most of the country and $679,650 in Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The revised maximum loan amount applies to mortgage backed securities with an issuance date on or after January 1, 2018.
