Fannie Mae issued Selling Guide Announcement SEL-2017-01, setting forth updates to the Selling Guide. As outlined in the Announcement, the Selling Guide has been updated to include changes to the following: confidentiality of information and data breach; seller/servicer financial eligibility requirements; comparable requirements with respect to new subdivision or new condo project appraisals; property inspections by appraiser trainees; appraisal adjustments for sales concessions; alignment with the Servicing Guide (various Part A topics); the Special Feature Code document; and the contact information for mortgage fraud reporting. The Selling Guide Updates generally went into effect January 31, 2017. The amended confidentiality of information and data breach requirements, however, are effective April 1, 2017 (although sellers/servicers may implement the changes immediately).
