Vermont Repeals and Readopts Rules Governing the Treatment of Nonpublic Personal Information about Borrowers

Vermont repeals and readopts rules governing the treatment of nonpublic personal information about borrowers by financial institutions. The readopted rules are substantially similar to the repealed rules. However, the readopted rules add guidance on how entities can use the Federal Model Privacy Form in a manner that is consistent with Vermont’s opt-in requirement and allow an alternative method for providing annual privacy notices (similar to the method in the federal privacy regulation). The readopted rules went into effect December 28, 2015.
