Freddie Mac issued Bulletin 2022-9 (Bulletin) announcing revisions to the Single-Family Seller/Servicer Guide. Per the Bulletin, Freddie Mac:
- clarified temporary guidance on mortgage assistance through Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF);
- announced the ability to submit short sales through the Resolve user interface (accessible through Servicing Gateway);
- increased limits for reimbursement of attorney fees associated with uncontested foreclosures in all jurisdictions;
- added an alternative to signatures on tax returns;
- changed taxing authority notification for foreclosure sales involving third-party purchasers;
- increased appraisal fees for appraisals ordered through BPOdirect or Real Estate Valuation and Pricing;
- updated access management notification requirements when a user of a Freddie Mac system has transferred roles or been terminated; and
- clarified that all system data, all aggregate data, and any other electronically stored data associated with a mortgage are the property of Freddie Mac.
Revisions with respect to the submission of short sales through Resolve are effective July 31, 2022 (however, the interface is available for use April 25, 2022). Revisions with respect to the reimbursement of attorney fees associated with uncontested foreclosures are effective April 18, 2022. Revisions with respect to appraisals ordered through BPOdirect or Real Estate Valuation and Pricing are effective May 5, 2022. All other updates are effective immediately.
